A warm and courteous welcome awaits you at the Black Bull, which is a STB three star Hotel. We are located only one and a half miles from the A74/M74.

The Black Bull’s main building dates back to the 16th century. Much has happened here. In the three years 1683-1685, it was used as the headquarters for Graham of Claverhouse and his dragoons. They were sent by the then English King to ruthlessly put down the religious rebels in the South West Borders. The Hotel was also frequented by the Scottish Bard, Robert Burns, circa 1790.
